  8. With COMPACT ("Comfortable Organizing and Music Playing AudioCD-Tool")
  9. you are able to play audio CDs.  "That's all?" i here you say. No! That's
  10. only a small part of it's complete capabilities. The most important
  11. features of it are listed below, but to explore the full power of this
  12. player program, you are recommended to read the documentation file in
  13. this distribution.

  16. THE MAIN FEATURES:
  17.  
  18. - Can run on a public screen (like the Workbench) or an own custom screen.
  19.   On the own custom screen a BACKGROUND PICTURE (IFF) can be loaded behind
  20.   the gadgets, with optionally switching on/off a colour-cycling effect.
  21. - Ability to jump from one public screen to an other while the player
  22.   is running.
  23. - Optionally runs in the background (commodity) and can be controlled by
  24.   hotkeys from nearly every program, without the need to activate the
  25.   window of the player (SKIP, SEARCH, PLAY, PAUSE etc.)!
  26. - Ability to open multiple windows, which can always remain opened. This
  27.   includes the ONLINE-HELP window too.
  28. - With the zoom-gadget you can switch between a very small gui and the
  29.   normal layout.
  30. - Built-in database for getting a quick overview of all your CDs. Also
  31.   you can search for titles, track-names, CD length etc., and you can
  32.   output selected data to a file or a printer.
  33. - ARexx-port available for external control.
  34. - Proportional slider for easy access in four different modes.
  35. - Offers 10 bookmarks to mark important positions on the CD and jump
  36.   directly to it at any time.
  37. - Recognizes CDs with an unique identnumber.
  38. - Has a program mode, in which you can define the tracks and its sequence
  39.   you want to hear. Optionally it is possible to link a program to a CD,
  40.   and everytime you insert this CD, your favorite program for this CD will
  41.   be loaded automatically too.
